We offer an extensive fleet of private yachts that can host anything from minimalist weddings to grand 1200-person festivities. Choose the vessel that best suits your wedding ceremony.

With sky-blue waters and panoramas, guests will have the opportunity to see a part of San Diego's heritage, including iconic maritime landmarks and marine wildlife.

San Diego yacht rehearsal dinners

Our yachts and boats are ideal for rehearsal dinners with your close family and friends before your big day! You can have your pre-wedding celebration in a warm and peaceful setting, a prime time for the spouses to reflect on their journey together and enjoy meaningful conversations and connections with their closest guests.

Given that during this time you will have a smaller "audience," it's the perfect opportunity to tailor a menu that reflects your exact tastes, or choose the waterway journey you wish for the most! You can enjoy the final sunset before your special day in a calm and secluded spot, or cruise past the water attractions at San Diego Bay.

San Diego yacht receptions

Even though your journey starts with an intimate and cozy rehearsal dinner with loved ones and the elegant wedding ceremony, it's at the end of the ceremony, as the reception takes off, when the real celebration begins! We love seeing our guests come alive at night, making their way to our dance floors under the stars, emanating pure joy and excitement, savoring delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere is electric; party games, toasts, cocktails, laughter, and the beat of the music synchronizing with the beat of the crowd.

San Diego Bay cruising routes

Thanks to San Diego Bay's maritime heritage, there are numerous picturesque spots where you can capture your memories. Besides the natural landscape and splendid skyline, there are plenty of iconic locations, including the Maritime Museum ships, the monumental USS Midway, and the majestic Coronado Bridge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are yacht weddings more expensive than traditional weddings?

Yacht weddings can be more affordable than traditional weddings. Charters offer all-in-one packages and the yacht serves as a built-in venue with essential amenities that simplify planning and customization, ultimately bringing expenses lower than those at traditional venues.

Can our event last longer than the scheduled cruise time?

Extensions are subject to yacht availability and your initial booking arrangements. Additional pre-event reservations can be made but we advise you to request extensions as early as possible.

Can we be married by the captain?

Yes, many weddings at San Diego Bay Cruises have been officiated by Captain John! Nothing is as special as having the ceremony led by a captain while honoring the sailor’s tradition of maritime weddings.

Can we conduct a rehearsal on the boat before the wedding day?

It is possible to conduct a rehearsal dinner on the boat prior to the wedding day, and we have plenty of venue options available. Your closest friends and family will enjoy a relaxed and cozy atmosphere featuring beautiful views and top service during your intimate gathering.

Can we use our own caterer/cake maker/DJ?

If you prefer, feel free to bring your own catering, baking, and entertainment providers. Alternatively, you can choose services from our list of trusted partners.

Does the boat follow a particular cruise route, or can it remain docked for the event?

Your choices are flexible regarding how you’d like to enjoy your time on the yacht. Whether you want to cruise or stay docked during the event, it’s ultimately up to you.

What happens if there’s inclement weather on the wedding day?

No one wants bad weather on their special day. Before anything, it’s important to be proactive and if very harsh weather can be foreseen, you should consider rescheduling to a more favorable date. However, if bad weather does occur unexpectedly, we have indoor options where the festivities can carry on.

What is a realistic budget for a small wedding on a yacht?

A small and simple wedding at San Diego Bay Cruises doesn’t cost a fortune! For a 4-hour wedding costing $550 per hour, with 28 guests, and minimal décor, you are looking at roughly $4000. This estimate includes $2200 for the yacht booking, $1400 for catering, and $400 for minimalist decor.
